What is the Gospel?
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
The Gospel – or “Good News” – is this:
The one, true and holy God created us in his image that we might love, serve and enjoy fellowship with Him. Genesis 1:26-28
But each of us has sinned. Romans 3:23 As a result we are separated from Him and fully deserve His judgment, which is death. Romans 6:23
Because He loves us, God sent His son, Jesus, to become a man, live a perfect life, and willingly die on the cross, taking on Himself the punishment for the sins of those who seek God’s forgiveness. John 1:14; Romans. 3:21-26, 5:12-21
Christ rose from the dead, showing that God accepted Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf and that God has the power to raise us from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
God calls us to repent of our sins and trust in Christ alone for the forgiveness of our sins. If we repent, we are born again into a new life. John 3:16
